Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist QA/QC team in day to day tasks to help daily operations flow efficiently.
- Conduct and document organoleptic testing of intermediates and finished products for approval before release to warehouse and packaging.
- Document sensory evaluations on incoming raw materials before release to general warehouse.
- Assist with evaluating pre-shipment samples of raw materials as needed.
- Perform quarterly warehouse traffic/environmental swabs and collect samples for portability.
- Maintain laboratory organization and upkeep.
- Coordinate with cross-functional team to align daily tasks with business needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, biology, or related field required.
- Proficiency with fundamental laboratory test equipment.
- Must have a positive attitude and strong willingness to learn.
- 1 or more years of industry or classroom experience in food production, quality assurance, and/or food safety
- Strong written, verbal, problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Physically able to do infrequent lifting and willing to wear all required Personal Protective and Safety Equipment.
