Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist with implementing, socializing and operationalizing accounting policies, procedures and new accounting pronouncements.
- Drive the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate communication of the Company’s financial results to the Leadership team.
- Ensure accounting records are maintained in accordance with GAAP and Company policy.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and variances to forecast, and initiate corrective action where necessary.
- Reconcile fixed assets, inventory, and payroll liability accounts.
- In the future, provide support to maintain IFRS/J-SOX compliance..
- Perform ad hoc requests and create comprehensive reports and insightful analyses required to achieve company goals and increase overall company profitability.
Qualifications
- Fluency in Japanese at native level is a must.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business required; active CPA status preferred.
- Demonstrated competency in financial planning and analysis, controllership, accounting, and financial consolidation.
- Strong leadership ability to motivate employees in changing environments and strategic approaches.
- Must possess a high level of organization and planning skills to achieve success in handling many priorities across a number of groups.
- Ability to clearly and accurately identify, define and troubleshoot problems.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
