Responsibilities and Duties
- Train and develop the sanitation team to be able to identify and control GMP related issues and enforce all current Food Safety Standards.
- Report any condition or act that may place product at risk of being contaminated with microbes or foreign materials.
- Communicate with leaders of other departments to resolve issues or conflicts in a timely manner to minimize production and sanitation downtime.
- Ensure that all chemicals used in the plant are approved for such use and that all chemicals have current MSDS information on site.
- Coordinate with QA department for continuous improvement of ATP and environmental swabbing results.
- Work with Maintenance team and chemical company to ensure cleaning practices do not damage equipment.
- Assist the upper management team to attain short-term and long-term goals for SQF certification project.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma with Associate's degree and/or (preferred) or equivalent work experience in a food manufacturing environment..
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in supervising sanitation operation (required)
- Must be knowledgeable in GMP’s, HACCP, SSOPs, Allergens Management Principles, and Food Safety Principles.
- Willingness and ability to work in wet, ambient, hot to cold environments./li>
- Ability to lift, transfer, push/pull, maneuver, and reposition 50 lbs infrequently.
- Fluency in Japanese and Spanish is a big plus.
- Detail orientated and self-starter with excellent punctuality and attendance.
